Learning Japanese with Manga(Beginner Level)-SUGIRU

Today’s expression is (SUGIRU).
It literally means ‘too much’, and you can use it when something is too much or when you do something too much.

たべすぎました(TABESUGIMASHITA)

Let us show you some examples from manga.

SUGIRUすぎる is made from 3 hiraganas, (す , き, る)so it is not too difficult to write SUGIRU in hiragana♪

  • ぎ(GI)needs 2 dots at top right of き(KI).

すぎる(SUGIRU) means ‘too much.’

You can add SUGIRU(すぎる) after adjectives/ verbs.

For example…
はやい(hayai) →はや(haya)→はやすぎる(hayasugiru) too fast
しずか(shizuka) →しずか(shizuka)→しずかすぎる(shizukasugiru) too quiet
たべる(taberu) →たべ(tabe)→たべすぎる(tabesugiru) to eat too much
