Learning Japanese with Manga(Beginner Level)-IKITAI
Today’s expression is いきたい(IKITAI).
It means to ‘I want to go’, to be able to let people know what you want to do is handy to know!
Let us show you some examples from manga.
いきたい is made from only 3 hiraganas, (い , き, た)so it is not too difficult to write IKITAI in hiragana♪
いきたい(IKITAI) means ‘I want to go.’
You can add TAI(たい) after the stem form(masu -form verb without masu) of any verb to mean ‘to want to do something’.
For example…
たべます(tabemasu) →たべ(tabe)→たべたい(tabetai)
のみます(nomimasu) →のみ(nomi)→のみたい(nomitai)
ねます(nemasu) →ね(ne)→ねたい(netai)
かいます(kaimasu) →かい(kai)→かいたい(kaitai)
