Learning Japanese with Manga(Beginner Level)-HAYAKU

Today’s expression is はやく(HAYAKU).
You might already know some adjectives in Japanese including はやい(HAYAI)(early/ fast). It is easy to make adverbs from adjectives in Japanese and through this post, you will learn some typical , easy-to-use-examples of how to use these adverbs :)

はやく!

はやく(HAYAKU) is made from 3 hiraganas, (は 、や、く)so it is not too difficult to write HAYAKU in hiragana♪

As you can see in the manga strip above, HAYAKU means quickly, fast( or it can mean early).
Let’s see the examples of adjectives/ adverbs to see the difference between adjectives and adverbs.

はやい くるま(HAYAI KURUMA)
はやい(HAYAI)is describing a noun.
a fast car

はやく あるきます(HAYAKU ARUKIMASU)
はやく(HAYAKU) is describing a verb.
to walk quickly

If you combine HAYAKU with the verb SHIMASU( to do), it means ‘to do something quickly’
はやくします(HAYAKU SHIMASU)
I will do it quickly.

はやくしましょう(HAYAKU SHIMASHOU)
Let’s do it quickly.

はやくしてください(HAYAKU SHITEKUDASAI)
Please do it quickly.

How to make an adverb

i-adjective
はやい(HAYAI)→はや (HAYA)→はやく( HAYAKU)
na-adjective
しずか(SHIZUKA)→しずかに( SHIZUKANI)

しずかにします(SHIZUKANISHIMASU)
I will be quiet.

しずかにしましょう(SHIZUKANISHIMASHOU)
Let’s be quiet.

しずかにしてください(SHIZUKANISHITEKUDASAI)
Please be quiet.
